Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. That can intercede in His presence except as he permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. In the Quran, Ayat al-Kursi is verse 255 of Surat al-Baqarah. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. The literal meaning of the word Ayat al-Kursi is the throne of God. Unto Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُĪllah! There is no god but He - the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. The translation of Ayat Ul Kursi is as follows: Allah There is no deity except Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Kursiyyuhus samaa waati wal arda wa la ya'ooduho hifzuhumaa Yuheetoona beshai 'immin 'ilmihee illa be maa shaaaa wasi'a Ya'lamu maa baina aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa Maa fil ard man zallazee yashfa'u indahooo illaa be iznih Taakhuzuhoo sinatunw wa laa nawm lahoo maa fissamaawaati wa In Quran, Ayatul Kursi is the 255th verse from Surah Al Baqarah. Scholars have differed, however, as to whether the word has been used in the Qur’an literally or figuratively. The literal meaning is obvious it signifies that which one sits on. (The word Kursi has been variously interpreted by Muslim scholars. This Ayat is known as the most famous verse of the Quran, the holy book of Muslims. The Arabic term kursi signifies sovereignty, dominion and authority. Ayatul Kursi speaks about the religious belief that nobody is comparable to Allah. The Surah lies in Second chapter of Quran. Narrated by Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “If anyone recites in the morning Ha-Mim al-Mu’min to ‘to Him is the final goal, and the Throne Verse, he will be guarded by them till the evening, and if anyone recites them in the evening he will be guarded by them till the morning.Allahu laaa ilaaha illaa huwal haiyul qai-yoom laa The literal meaning of the word Ayatul Kursi is Throne of Allah. Ayatul Kursi is the Best Means of Protection Hadhrat Ali (ra) narrates, I cannot understand how a person, who is a Muslim and owner of reason (intellect), can spend the night without reading Ayatul Kursi. When you go to your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn.” When the Prophet heard the story he said (to me), “He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar and it was Satan.” I caught him and said, “I will take you to Allah’s Apostle!” Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and said: That person said (to me), “Please don’t take me to Allah’s Apostle and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you. Then somebody came to me and started stealing of the foodstuff. Narrated Abu Huraira: Prophet Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasallam ordered me to guard the Zakat revenue of Ramadan.
